Prevents vehicle blurKey Engineering Rules for Middle East ANPR Deployments:
- Tilt Angle Maximum (30°): If the vertical angle exceeds 30°, rectangular license plates suffer trapezoidal distortion. Characters become vertically compressed and OCR read rates drop significantly.
- Horizontal Pan Angle (<20°): The camera should point almost straight down the lane. Avoid mounting cameras far off to the side of multi-lane avenues.
- Illumination & Wavelength: In the Gulf climate with direct midday sun and dark night perimeters, utilize 850nm synchronized pulsed infrared (IR) illuminators with high shutter speeds (1/1000s to 1/2000s) to completely freeze plate characters without headlight glare.
